“…your advice as to ways to limit liability and reduce premiums without having to dedicate a staff member to that type of research was a great plus. CPIX’s field audit of our installations in Saskatchewan was valuable help for myself and our field foreman to put in place safety procedures that provided a safer work environment for all of our field personnel.”

“Rife Resources joined because we needed additional liability coverage and CPIX had the standard upstream oil and gas package. But the thing that has impressed us the most has been the personal attention we receive to other bigger conglomerate insurers. Our representative goes out of his way. Even the operating people feel comfortable calling him up with any question they might have. To sum it up, the biggest advantage is "ready access to personnel".”

Delegating Safety to Contractors?

To ensure that due diligence is demonstrated under Occupational Health and Safety Law, Employers and Prime Contractors should ensure that any contractor hired to do work has a Certificate of Recognition (COR) evidencing a basic safety program has been implemented. If this is not in place, the CAPP Contractor Safety Evaluation questionnaire can be a good tool to assess a contractor's safety management system. Diligence requires a Prime Contractor to continuously monitor and reinforce safety compliance.
